Here at Baker Street, when we combine two delicious foods into one tasty recipe, it gets us very excited! This Rocky Road French Toast recipe is certainly one for those with a sweet tooth.
Using any leftover Baker Street Burger Buns you might have from a BBQ or a family burger night, create this Rocky Road French Toast for a hearty family breakfast, or as a simple yet tasty dessert. If you only have a few leftover Baker Street Burger Buns, just halve the recipe or you could also make this with our Hot Dog Rolls too if you have any of these leftover.
Featuring all the classic Rocky Road flavours – creamy chocolate and gooey marshmallows – these combine with a simple French Toast and make something truly delicious.
Rocky Road – or Tiffin as it’s sometimes called in the UK – is a no-bake dessert usually made by combining melted milk chocolate and mini marshmallows, and sometimes some other ingredients like cherries and biscuits, and then chilled in the fridge to set before being sliced up into square pieces. Many of us will probably know this from our childhood, as a sweet treat at school, after school or at bake sales.
How we’ve brought together these two classics in our Rocky Road French Toast recipe is by simply using the Burger Buns to make an easy French Toast – dipping the bread into a beaten egg mixture, then fried on both sides. Then, while the French Toast is still warm, adding chocolate chips and mini marshmallows onto the base so that it melts and goes slightly gooey.
Served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and a chocolate flake crumbled on top, this Rocky Road French Toast is certain to please even the most sweet-toothed members of your household!
