For an easy way to create a dessert or sweet treat for your Coronation celebrations, try making our “Scone” Hot Dog Rolls. Taking all the classic sweet fillings that you would put in a traditional British scone – vanilla cream and strawberry jam – and using them to fill our Hot Dog Rolls instead, you’ll have an easy and quick way to serve your guests something special during the Coronation.
CORONATION SCONE TOP TIP
You could make bite-sized versions of these Coronation “Scone” Rolls by simply slicing the Hot Dog Rolls into small pieces before filling them with the cream, jam and strawberries. This would work well for a street party or afternoon tea, and you could even put a little Great Britain flag in the top of each one if you like!
Ingredients
- 1 pack Baker Street Hot Dog Rolls
- 300ml whipping cream
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Strawberries, sliced
- Strawberry jam
- Icing sugar
Steps
- In a large bowl, add the whipping cream and vanilla extra and use a whisk or electric mixer to whisk until the cream becomes firm.
- To make the “Scone” Rolls, either pipe a layer of the whisked vanilla cream into each roll, or carefully add a few spoonfuls of cream on to the base of each roll.
- Add a couple of small dollops or light drizzle of strawberry jam on top of the cream, followed by a few sliced strawberries and a light dusting of icing sugar.
