Spooktacular Savoury Halloween Ideas

Spider Burgers & Spooky Sandwiches

Let’s start those Halloween party food ideas for kids by dressing up regular burgers and sandwiches by adding teeth and eyes to these staples. Let your kids get their fangs into these Spider Burgers and Spooky Sandwiches – are they brave enough to take a bite out of these creepy creations?

The great thing about these burgers and sandwiches is that you can use whatever Baker Street Sliced Loaves or Burger Buns you already have in your kitchen, and you can make a selection with different fillings and toppings.

If you’re looking for more Halloween sandwich inspiration, last year we teamed up with Annabel Karmel who created these creepy creations using our Sliced Loaves.

Make a mummy open sandwich by spreading a thin layer of cream cheese on a slice of our White Sliced Loaf, and then top with thin slices of cucumber and slices of black olive for eyes. On another piece of bread, create a smashed avocado monster!

Burger Bun Pizza Faces

Get the kids excited with this enjoyable recipe – these Burger Bun Pizza Faces offer both a fun activity and a delicious snack or meal. Pick ingredients like black olives, pickles, peppers and pepperoni slices to create the faces – we encourage spooky facial expressions for Halloween, of course!

Children can have a blast decorating them according to their preferences, and in just 20 minutes, you’ll have a dish that’s sure to please a crowd. We’ve chosen our Baker Street Burger Buns for this recipe because they’re the ideal size for your young chefs to adorn and enjoy once they’re cooked.

Halloween Party Food Ideas For Kids - Mega Jalapenos Cheeseburger

Halloween Jalapeño Cheeseburgers

Get ready for a fiery and festive feast with our Halloween Jalapeño Cheeseburgers. Packed with bold flavours and a touch of spiciness, these burgers topped with slices of jalapeno and drizzled in chilli sauce are perfect for big kids and adults alike this Halloween by adding a thrilling twist to your celebrations.

We’ve used our Mega Seeded Burger Buns for these epic creations, as these mighty flavours deserve a mega burger bun to accompany it!

For a kid-friendly version that doesn’t compromise on flavour but tastes milder, we recommend taking out the spice (jalapenos and chilli sauce) and topping with burger sauce instead – either shop bought or make your own by mixing tomato ketchup and mayonnaise.

You could also make these burgers smaller for your little ones and serve in our regular Burger Buns. Both versions are perfect to serve together for the whole family this spooky season.

Here’s how to create these Halloween delights:

  1. Preheat your oven, grill or hob for cooking the burger patties and
  2. Cook the burger patties according to the on-pack instructions, and season with salt and pepper.
  3. Make your homemade burger sauce by mixing tomato ketchup and mayonnaise in a bowl.
  4. Just before the patties are done cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on top of each patty to melt.
  5. Toast the Baker Street Mega Seeded Burger Buns and Burger Buns until lightly golden.
  6. Assemble the burgers by layering some thinly sliced red onions and a handful of fresh salad leaves on the base of each bun.
  7. then add a burger patty with melted cheese onto each burger bun base.
  8. For the spicy burgers, drizzle the chilli sauce over the patty and top with a few jalapeno slices. For the kid-friendly burgers, add a generous amount of the burger sauce on the patty.
  9. Place the burger bun lids on top of each burger.
  10. Serve theses Halloween Jalapeño Cheeseburgers with tortilla chips on the side, or place some crushed tortilla chips inside the burger to add an extra crunch.

Franken Toast

Bread should be far from lifeless, so why not resurrect it for your Halloween party with a little assistance from our friend, Dr. Frankenstein! Toast slices from any of our Sliced Loaves before adding a generous layer of guacamole, slices of black olives for the eyes, half a cherry tomato for the mouth, salad leaves for the hair, pickle eyebrows, and pepper ears for a ghoulish savoury treat. Perfect if you are looking to offer more of a light snack before going out trick-or-treating, or to serve while enjoying some Halloween party games with the whole family.
