Loaf is in the air Bread Heads, as we have been spreading the love all month long! To start this year off right, we decided to turn February into a whole month of love. With delicious recipes, toastcards – postcards with a Baker Street twist – and a competition as part of an exciting collaboration with a much-loved dips brand, check out how we’ve spread the love this February.
Take a look at our easy recipes below to see how you could whip up a meal for a loved one (and yourself!) to spread the love.
Loafly Pancake Alternatives
Not got the ingredients to make pancakes? Can’t be bothered to make the batter? Or simply don’t like pancakes?! Baker Street has got you covered with these simple pancake alternatives using our Sliced White Bread.
All you need to do is:
Flatten some slices of Baker Street’s White Sliced Loaf with a rolling pin, spread with butter and liberally sprinkle with sugar. Then roll your bread slices up.
Combine an egg, 2 tbsps milk and a pinch of salt in a bowl and dip your rolled-up bread into the egg mixture.
The only thing left to do is to fry these bad boys up in butter. Cook for around 4 mins rotating every minute or so until golden brown all over. Plate up and squeeze lemon juice and drizzle with golden syrup. Yum!
Like the sound of those pancake alternatives? Then you’ll love these Nutella roll-ups!
To make these use the same method as above but this time spread your Baker Street White Sliced Loaf with a healthy helping of Nutella, and then a little more. Dip your rolled-up chocolate bread into the egg mixture and fry until golden brown.
Once cooked, dust ‘em with sugar and serve hot with a dipping dish of warmed Nutella.
If this fruity chocolate flan isn’t an aphrodisiac we don’t know what is, and with our Sponge Flan Cases it’s an absolute doddle to whip together.
Here’s how you do it:
Generously fill one of our Baker Street Sponge Flan Cases with chocolate spread or (for the fancier Bread Heads out there) chocolate ganache. Then, decorate with sliced fruit of your choosing. You could try spreading them out in a heart shape, but you don’t have to keep it conventional! Just get your creativity flowing.
Garnish with a sprig of mint as a final touch. Take a quick pic of your creation for the ‘gram and then, tuck in!
Lemon Meringue Toast
Fancy a dessert but don’t feel like whipping up a whole pie? Then these Lemon Meringue Toasts are just the thing for you!
All you have to do is:
Start by toasting one side of your Baker Street Seeded Sliced Loaf under the grill. Then, spread the untoasted side with as much lemon curd as you like and scatter with mini marshmallows. Pop under the grill until the marshmallows turn brown and soft. And there you go, a simple yet delicious dessert!
