Here at Baker Street we are all about the fakeaways at the moment, and this March we are making everything MEGA. Using our Mega Burger Buns and Jumbo Hot Dog Rolls we have some tasty fakeaway recipes for you to try at home!
Fakeaway Recipe Idea: Mega Beef Burger

A classic beef burger, but make it MEGA! Using our Mega Burger Buns add some lettuce, tomato and red onion before adding a juicy burger patty topped with cheese, gherkins (optional, we know not everyone’s a fan!). To finish it off, cover it all in burger sauce – it’s not a proper fakeaway beef burger without burger sauce, right?
Fakeaway Recipe Idea: Mega Chicken Burger

For those Nando’s lovers out there, this is the fakeaway recipe for you! Fill one of our Mega Burger Buns with your favourite chicken burger, southern fried, breaded, crispy or even plain if you fancy it! Add some salad and smother in chilli sauce, we’ll let you decide how much spice you can handle
Fakeaway Recipe Idea: Pulp Fiction Burger

For any Pulp Fiction fans out there, this one’s our attempt to recreate the Durwood Kirby Burger, complete with $5 shake too! Fill a Baker Street Mega Burger Bun with a large, minced beef burger (cooked either burnt to a crisp or bloody as hell), a slice of cheese, sliced pickle and lettuce. Serve with a side of watermelon salad, French fries and a vanilla milkshake you think is worth 5$.
Fakeaway Recipe Idea: Subway-style Meatball Sub

These mega meatball subs are super easy to make and taste delicious! Cook your meatballs in a tomato marinara sauce – you can use a ready-made sauce or, if you’re feeling super fancy, make your own. Pile ‘em into a Baker Street Jumbo Hot Dog Roll and sprinkle with as much cheese as you like. Voila, you have yourself a meatball sub!
Fakeaway Recipe Idea: Breakfast Burrito Hot Dog

Who said fakeaways are only for dinner? With this Breakfast Burrito recipe, you can have a MEGA start to the day. Fill a Baker Street Jumbo Hot Dog Roll with some halloumi, sausages (veggie, vegan or meaty), fried mushrooms and tommies. Don’t forget to get a little saucy with it, too.
Team Baker Street Tries Out Mega March Fakeaway Recipes
Our Baker Street team is full of Bread Heads, and we couldn’t resist getting involved in Mega March this month.. So a few of us decided to try our fakeaway recipes at home, and here’s how we got on:

Danielle from our Technical Team tried our Mega Chicken Burger, topped with some spicy mayo and served with sweet potato fries. These burgers look delicious and apparently tasted great, too!

These Mega Fakeaway Burgers were created by Georgia from our Marketing Team and her fiancé. Which one would you prefer Bread Heads? Cheese or Mustard?!

Heather, also from our Marketing Team, gave the Meatball Sub a go and here’s what she had to say about it:
“I made this on a Sunday evening, it was perfect for a bit of weekend indulgence without having to spend hours in the kitchen. To save time I bought mini meatballs instead of making my own, I figured mini ones would work better in a sub! I added spices and avocado to mine to give it a bit of a Mexican twist!
“The subs tasted delicious! A really fun, filling idea, especially while it’s not very easy to buy fast food! I’ll definitely be trying this again.”
Jen from our Marketing Team had a fakeaway night with her family. They went all out making their own beef burger patties to create the iconic Pulp Fiction Durwood Kirby Burger, milkshake and all– we’re impressed!

Another one from the Marketing Team – Lauren and her fiancé had a fakeaway evening with our Mega Chicken Burgers. Using crispy breaded chicken and a spicy mayo, they served their burgers with French fries – we’re drooling!
Paul, who is one of our Founders here at Baker Street, had a MEGA fakeaway night with hot dogs AND burgers! Why only pick one? With a table filled with salad and sauces, this is a fakeaway table fit for a king.
“We used southern fried chicken fillets and served with fries, onion rings and coleslaw and they were delicious. Perfect Saturday evening watching Ant & Dec Saturday Night Takeaway whilst eating my fakeaway.”

These meatball subs were made completely from scratch (apart from the Jumbo Hot Dog Rolls of course) by Titouan from our Marketing Team – here’s what our Baker Street chef did to create his fakeaway meal:
“In the sub, I added homemade pork meatballs in marinara sauce with slices of gruyere cheese from Switzerland, grated parmesan, red onions, some salad, some jalapenos and chopped basil.”
Apparently Titouan made too much and had meatballs and marinara sauce for days, but who’s complaining, right?
We all had so much fun getting involved in Mega March and hopefully Team Baker Street has inspired you to try our fakeaway recipes for yourselves. If you do be sure to share your creations with us on social, tagging @lovesbakerstreet on Instagram and Facebook.
