Here at Baker Street HQ, we’re excited to celebrate The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. With a four-day bank holiday weekend, it’s a great opportunity to spend quality time with friends and family and celebrate in style with exquisite recipes.
Here at Baker Street we wanted to make sure you had the food sorted, so we have come up with some simple Jubilee recipes for you to try this weekend.
This Jubilee Toast is fun for all the family to get involved in making. Simply toast slices of our Baker Street Sliced White Loaf, spread clotted cream as the base onto each slice and then add lines of strawberry jam and blueberries to make the Union Jack shape.
Top tip: get your kids to make bunting as well by slicing the toast into small triangles, decorating them with your ingredients and positioning them together as if it was bunting.
Why not go out for a family picnic this bank holiday weekend and take a variety of tasty sandwiches with you.
We’ve opted for:
- Salami, layered with sliced cheese, tomato, lettuce and lots of mayonnaise all on a Soft Brown Roll
- A Soft White Roll filled with mozzarella, avocado, tomato and pesto
- Bacon, lettuce and tomato served inside Sliced Brown Loaf smothered in cream cheese
Top tip: if the weather doesn’t quite go to plan this bank holiday weekend, fear not – Baker Street is always there. Either save your bread for another day- it’s cleverly packed to last longer – or, if you’ve already opened your Baker Street bread, why not host an indoor picnic instead with the family.
Finger sandwiches are the perfect street party food to serve up at your Jubilee celebrations. Brilliant for sharing and also brilliant for being able to try all of the classic British sandwich flavours such as Coronation Chicken, Ham & Mustard and a good old Ploughman’s.
