THE OLD RECTORY’S BIRTHDAY CAKE
This fabulous entry was sent in by the Head Chef from The Old Rectory Nursing Home in Exeter. Filled with buttercream and strawberries, drizzled in chocolate ganache and topped with homemade macarons, it is certainly a feast for the eyes.
What’s extra special about this cake is that it was a birthday cake for one of the nursing home’s residents and all of the toppings on the cake were her favourite fruits and chocolates.
We hope she enjoyed her birthday showstopper!
NELSON HOUSE’S BURGER-THEMED BAKE
Yes, this is actually a cake! This Whopper-inspired creation was made and sent in by the Chef at Nelson House in Gosport, Hampshire.
Using our Sponge Cake Layers as the burger bun, two chocolate cake layers as the burger patties and icing for the cheese, tomatoes and lettuce, this cake definitely had us fooled for a second and we think it’s a bun-derfully creative idea!
ABBEYCREST’S CHOCOLATE, STRAWBERRY AND CHERRY CAKE
This luxurious cake was sent in by the Head Chef at Abbeycrest Nursing Home in Reading. Filled with a cherry pie filling, smothered in chocolate icing and sprinkled in chocolate chips before adding strawberries and white chocolate to decorate – we really wish we could have tried a slice!
FORRESTER COURT’S STRAWBERRIES AND CREAM CAKE
This showstopper was sent in by Forrester Court in London. Forget the scones this cake looks perfect for afternoon tea! With sponge layers filled with cream and homemade strawberry jam and topped with even more cream and strawberries. Yum!
GALSWORTHY HOUSE’S CHEESECAKES
We really love how inventive these cheesecakes are, sent in by the Head Chef at Galsworthy House. Using our sponge layers as a base before being topped with a cream cheese mixture, jelly and even some marshmallow, these cheesecake bites look too good to eat!
